Please help: FERGOE racing bike
Hi,
Recently picked up an interesting racing bike. I bought it because of drilled dropouts and nice wheel-set.
Never heard before such a brand name - FERGOE. There is a sticker on the top front of the diagonal tube with name of the retailer(?) - Fahrradhaus Gollner.
Any idea and information about the frameset is much appreciated!
Basic info:
Headset - GALLI
Tubes - Reynolds 531 (based on stickers)
Dropouts - Capmagnolo, nicely drilled
Head badge - sticker "SANTINI Confezioni racing team / Selle Italia"
Seatpost - no name seatpost, fluted, size 27,2 mm; clamp bolt MICHE
Seat - Turbo, leather, production date stamped 1990
BB - 1,37x24 T standart, SAKAE

I found this info on a German website and ran it thru Google Translate. Appears to be a similar bike to yours.

A lettering painted with FERGOE on the down tube,
sticker from Radsport Göllner in Gevelsberg.
The assumption is that FERGOE is a fantasy name from the surname Göllner, e.g. Ferdi Göllner
So far I could neither find out anything about the builder nor about the Göllner bike shop, which has not existed for a long time. I suspect that the owner of the bike shop had the frame produced for himself or to order.
The frame is very well crafted, was and is again built with Galli parts.

Many thanks to cb400bill for helping me to find out that the name FERGOE is a fantasy.
Any ideas which is this mysterious manufacturing workshop?
I'm adding few more pictures just to show the front tube sticker (badge) and missing serial number on BB shell.
It seems a bit strange that the bottle cage is branded BENOTTO.

Alternate branded parts like the waterbottle cage are pretty common, a cage was needed, “here, we can use this one”
when the bottle is in place, no questions asked.
at the shop for which I first worked, Masi branded 3ttt saddles found their way onto many a Nishiki, exchanged at purchase as few liked the shape.
