some of the fittings later than suggested birthdate for machine
launch for the Rigida model 1319 rim was ~1975
the red plastic bushings on the rear brake caliper came in during the late 1960's
brake levers later than date of machine
their pivot pins have silver rather than brass finish & contour of lever itself differs from what would have been current in the 1950's
launch of MAFAC Racer model was 1952
presence of the Verot Competition bottom bracket assembly does not mean that chainset is necessarily Verot
does backside of chainwheel carry an LV marking?
is there any marking on backside of arms?
upper pump peg is NERVEX Ref. 848
ther may have been a braze-on companion lower peg which has been broken off
seat binder is ALGI
the present Lyotard model 460D pedals are certainly not the machine's original set
repair of drive side chainstay may be all right
one would wish to know what lieth beneath the bronze blob...

Francis was both a national hero in The Great War and a national cycling champion of France in 1921
competed in six TdF
https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francis_P%C3%A9lissier
following his competitive career he had a second cycling career as a coach (directeur sportif)
cycle example dated by owner as 1952 -
1930's era headplate -
family member Charles also has cycles bearing his name -
