I've been lusting after one of these for years. But I can usually get 3-4 other quite nice bikes for the price most of these go for. Still .....one day...

I always mix up Tommasini and Tommaso. Both beautiful bikes.

I had a Basso Ascot from the same vintage, also made from Columbus MS. The Diamante was, in my mind, the luxury version with flashier lug cutouts, chrome etc. The ride was as described in the article.
I miss that bike, and have an ebay alert set up for 60 and 62cm Columbus MS frames. Maybe I will pull the trigger some day.

They didn’t even mention how offset that seat tube/bottom bracket junction is in the first photo!

That Cinetica stem is interesting, too. Looks like it can be adjusted to your pick of three lengths: https://cinellionly.blogspot.com/201...tica-stem.html
Bars too: https://cinellionly.blogspot.com/201...andlebars.html
Cinetica tried their hand at carbon fibre frames too: https://www.tumblr.com/westendbikes/...inetica-giotto
