I have 6 sets of wheels built with Syntesi hubs, the oldest set going on 7 years now. Only replaced the cartridge bearings once in the front hub on the oldest set of wheels about 3 years ago. Haven't had to replace the rim yet, but if I get to that point it will be a milestone as I have never ever wore a set of wheels completely.

I have a couple sets of hubs stashed away as they seem to become harder to find and the ones available seem to have doubled in price as well.

I got in new Veloflex tires and Keo Blade pedals for the Moser.

Assuming I stick to my plan of white bar tape on the bike.

I was curious so I did some googling. Seems there were folks saying the SPD SL would clip into the Delta pedals but there there was a lot of movement and possibility for the cleat to jam and not let you release from the pedal.

Yep, his prices are good and the jerseys are quite nice. His website say they normally want a minimum of 6 jerseys for a custom job. But I sent David an email on Feb 29th asking nicely if he would. The whole process took only two weeks. I bought the "Guv'nor" jersey from him a couple of years ago and that one still looks brand new despite getting a lot of use. Great place to buy merino jersey's from.

Far as I know, Keo is compatible with neither Delta nor SPD-SL.

But now.... I might be... mistaken.....

I think I botched that pretty good.

Campy pedals use the Delta cleat system, SPd SL looks similar but is not and uses only SpD SL. Keo is its own animal and has a different footprint from Delta and SP

All of these "junky" parts for $100.

That Seatpost is already shining like a mirror after a first pass with polish and just a paper towel. TIme to clean and service to see what I've really got here.

Shouldn't these have little nylon (or other plastic) washers which sit between the extractor and bolt? In addition, if you have the self-extracting bolt part, isn't it likely you'd also have this little doohickey (though probably not as cute)?

Upcharge for brass and bling. For select bikes I like the touch of color the brass addds. I got a set from Velo Orange a while back. They're available in plain silver from the giant online retailer for much less. With those and hex bolts, extraction is dead simple.
