OK This is news to me. Did Campagnolo ever build a frame? I've found somebody selling a Campagnolo BIKE on CL for $350. Thing is... the downtube actually has Campagnolo branded decals that look legitimate.

from the years I've been collecting bikes, I have never seen a Campy frame. Maybe it's a custom job with a campy sticker.

No Campagnolo frames. From time to time they have comissioned frames for Trade Shows, and neutral support of races. I think Serotta even made some long ago. They had Campagnolo graphics and were silver, and one year blue if memory serves.

Not in one's best interest to compete with your customers. Pushing off topic, but with the number of makers that don't make forks, and Campagnolo's commitment to carbon...wanna bet they do a fork? They DID try saddles, and DO brand clothing...

Fake.

Probably the only thing on the bike that is Campagnolo is the downtube sticker and it looks fake, the angle of the italics is wrong and the letterforms are off.

While the seat tube sticker is small, looks kind of Windsor shaped, a friend was down in Mexico long ago, and he brought back lots of photos of Colnagos with cottered cranks, stamped dropouts, stem shifters...

In the 70's Holywood Sports Cars would sell you a $475. set of emblems for your Dino to turn it into a Ferrari, at least the emblems were real.

BTW, I have a Speaker box with a Campy logo. I hear you can go wicked fast on them. I'll sell for 1 million dollars.

Yeah Number 6, I saw that the cranks look to be Suntour but couldn't tell on the rest. I was dreaming that maybe somehow, someone got the frame, stripped it & refitted junk (to conceal it!) and then sold it in paranoid panic! The seller sure sounds naive!

It is the long lost special Campagnolo frame!!...for $350! (ha) (hey wait..what if it is?)

So far the seller is a little shy in responding.

But it does appear to be a good boom era frame, with chromed head lugs, no braze-ons, tight rear triangle and short wheel base. The seat post binder bolt appears to pierce the top of thee seat stays, so it may be a Windsor, as suggested by number6. The tubing decal looks like a Reynolds decal, but the photos aren't good enough. Then again, it could be fake too. Even if it's a Windsor Pro, it's priced too high, but if you're in the area, it would be worth a look,

It looks like a Windsor Pro with the wrong parts and a Campagnolo sticker on the downtube. Maybe you'll get lucky and its really a Cinelli hiding there.

This frame is reported to be a Campy display frame I bought off E-Bay for my sixteen year old son. It has no serial numbers , a Cinelli BB, Campy dropouts. We built using our own parts. Compared to my TSX Bianchi it is extremly compliant and a little slower in the steering.

Bikes before the mid70's had clamp on Stops not braze on. I have a 1969 Cinelli SC and everything was Campy Clamp on fittings not braze ons. I remember seeing bikes marketed during the bike booms with what I called "marketing" stickers. My memory doesn't cringe at the Campagnolo DT sticker. Probably a Windsor and probably an original sticker. Not something I would buy but may be a decent ride for someone. Suntour weren't bad parts, infact I believe that Shimano bought the patents for the current RD design.

The link didn't work so I'm not sure we're talking about the same kind of bike... but when I lived in Vicenza Italy from 1999 - 2004 a local guy would ride a "Campagnolo frame" town bike every day to a nearby bar that I would have coffee at. It was a nice looking gusset frame, campy components, aero rims, flat bars, ... etc. Could have just been Campagnolo stickers, but the Campagnolo factory was just on the other side of town from us (this bar was in Torri di Quartesolo) and I wish I would have inquired about it when I had the chance ... it was a nice looking bike and a bit of a curiosity for me because I didn't think Campagnolo made frames either. If you're dying to know the answer I can probably e-mail a buddy in Torri and have him ask next time he gets a coffee there (Bar Al Cedro Fiorito).

I found a frame in my shed with Campagnolo clearly stamped on the fork and rear wheel drop outs. Does this mean I have the Campagnolo frame you all seek??

No. It means the frame in your shed was made with Campagnolo dropouts and fork ends.

as stated earlier in the thread, there are campagnolo frames that show up occasionally, not usually on CL though.

Bought a CZECH Favorit in 1974 silver, NUVO Record equipped, 26.2 camp seat post. It has campagnola stamped on the steering post. {cant be seen until taken apart**. Does this suggest its a camp frame or just the forks are and how rare are they?

Everyone and everyone has been giving away Campagnolo decals and stickers to everyone for many many years. It must be the most printed bicycle related decal out there........So they end up stuck on everything like.....bike frames..... and I bet you, even an occasional cat and dog!
