Not just yet. You guys gotta see this white turkey. 😎 FYI, there are 2 females & 3 babies here (even if you can't see all of them, lol), the males are way bigger.

Sorry it's so hard to see, the sun's bright, when it's 100 F out. 😵😉

Not to nitpick, but I think your peacocks are actually quails, or possibly partridges. I'm not real sure what partridges look like, just know they have those dangly bits on their heads, kinda like quails. 🤔😉

Quail are much smaller than that, about the size of a pigeon. Partridges are slightly bigger than quail. Those are most likely peafowl (peacocks and peahens).

I "could" be wrong again, I guess, I'm certainly not an expert. 🤔 Could someone ask them to fluff out their feathers, like peacocks are supposed to do? 😁

One for the kids that I remember from QI

Partridges are named after the greek for fart possibly from the sound they make when taking off.

the more drab ones without the tail 'fans' are peahens. only the males, or 'cocks', have the fancy tails.

cheers,

we were going to go but they launched to early for us to get there or too late.

On a short morning ride, got off the bike to check the tire and saw this little fella resting. Haven't seen one in years - beautiful.

Really cool looking, exactly what is it? 🤔

Man, I saw a heck of a lot of cool birds yesterday, bluebirds, bluejays, magpies, red-headed woodpecker s, & chickadees. And right after dark, I even heard an owl, really close, but I never actually saw it.

Polyphemus, I believe. I used to be pretty up on entomology but the more I try to cram into the gourd even more leaks out...
