why did the peacock cross the road? IU have seen one peacock on this corer then two a year later now a whole bunch. this is in the middle of the city and I think they are wild.

Not to nitpick, but I think your peacocks are actually quails, or possibly partridges. I'm not real sure what partridges look like, just know they have those dangly bits on their heads, kinda like quails. 🤔😉

Quail are much smaller than that, about the size of a pigeon. Partridges are slightly bigger than quail. Those are most likely peafowl (peacocks and peahens).

they do. the first one I saw had a full tail and was strutting around the parking lot. these guys tails were in bad shape but more of them.

Festival of Balloons, Tigard Oregon
Saw this on my commute to work. A third of my route is on a MUP, I saw the top of this balloon peaking over some trees. It was a short detour to get to the launch zone. I was maybe 50 yards from it, setting up my bike with a helmet kickstand when I looked up and saw it starting to climb! First time I'd been near a hot air balloon at launch.

On a short morning ride, got off the bike to check the tire and saw this little fella resting. Haven't seen one in years - beautiful.

Man, I saw a heck of a lot of cool birds yesterday, bluebirds, bluejays, magpies, red-headed woodpecker s, & chickadees. And right after dark, I even heard an owl, really close, but I never actually saw it.
