The first cause I think of is a worn out BB. Second might be pedals, third saddle/post. But the comment I noted was the "10 years" one. Any bike with ten years of no maintenance is likely to have issues. Have you tried to remove the chain from the front sprockets and then rotated the cranks to see if you sense any BB issues? Andy
