WTB: Tubular wheels, Campagnolo Hi Flange hubs
Looking to buy a pair of wheels; tubular rims, Campy Record Hi Flange hubs. Going on a 1958 bike, yeah the hubs are kinda 2 years too new for the bike according to Velobase but I'll cope with that. Looking for nice condition, really rather not have French freewheel threads, pretty sure my preference is 36H x 36H. Rims should be period-OK so not looking for deep-V rims.
I figure someone might have picked up a set and decided tubulars are not for them.

I have some that the hubs (Record) look nearly new but the front is 28 spoke and the rear is 32 (if I remember right). The hoops are Campagnolo and were never ridden on, bearings are done and have pre CPSC skewers. Unfortunately I am on the east coast of Canada and would want $400 CAD + shipping

I believe one piece record hubs were introduced in 1958, so I don't think they are wrong for your bike. Although in the 1958-1960 window of time they would be "no record" hubs, and have "open C" skewers.

I can build a usable wheelset with circa '70 fixins. (I've built loads of wheels.)
High flange 36H Campy and flat skewers. 120mm rear. English.
Fiamme Red Label of decent trueness.
Butted spokes - possibly Robergel.
PM if interested. Unsure of price, but likely at least $200.

I have a spare HF "No Record" hub, if you want to build a period correct pair.

And apparently the 3-piece Gran Sport hubs would be just right, but I presume unobtanium. My brother has a set but on a bike he bought used over 60 years ago. I have no idea how smooth compared to Record they might be, nor how heavy.
Thanks for the info -- either Velobase got it wrong and said 1960, or I read it wrong (more likely).
Thanks, that might work. I also might have a lead on local wheels. I might PM you on this but do not be surprised if not for a few weeks.
Honestly, no idea when "reduced" spoke counts became popular. More importantly, I am 6'0" and 190LB...

Thanks guys! It turns lout that jeirvine , who is semi-local( saving $$$ on shipping), is coming to the rescue once again and I should pick up wheels next week. Unless something goes wrong. I really appreciate the response, did not want to keep you hanging!
