Many cheaper 3-speed bikes that I have seen do not have a Sturmey-Archer AW-3 hub, but a 3-speed hub that looks like a clone, stamped "AUSTRIA."
I have one here that I would like to try to overhaul. Is it a clone of the Stumey Archer?
Does anyone have the link that I can't seem to find today to overhualing one?

Welcome back.
Is yours from a Sears bike? The Steyr hub is a clone of the SA hub, the only difference is some have 25 ball bearings in the ball ring, not 24. These Videos of SA hub breakdown are actually of a Steyr hub.

The ones I've seen say either Sears or J. C. Higgins on the shell. Those are definitely Sturmey Archer clones. I've never heard of any other Austrian three speed hub.
Do you have any Sturmey Archer parts lying around-- axle nuts or an indicator chain? If so, see how they fit. If you can screw either of those into or onto your hub, then you can be pretty sure it's a Sturmey Archer clone.

This hub actually came off of a Schwinn from sometime in the 60's. I imagine it's a clone, but I'm not entirely sure.
