Bike Shop in Nassau and Queens?
Hello,
I just wonder where are the good bike shop in Nassau or in Queens. I go to Peak Mountain Bike shop in Douglaston, NY. They are good but very busy. I had to wait in line for almost a month to get my bike tuned.
I may get a road bike, not sure where to go. All the nice bikes are so expensive per my online research (Scott Addict RC series). Shopping can be an exhausting experience sometimes.

Brands in Wantagh and Brickwell in Farmingdale.
Due to Covid, most have a 2-4 week wait for repairs.
What do you need done?

Ditto Glenn's suggestions, also the Bike Junkie in Bethpage. But as Glenn stated, the shops have been busy going on 14 months now and have parts supply issues as well. Call ahead maybe and describe what you need done.

The saddest thing I have seen lately is the owner of Bike Junkie lamenting the egregious misfortune of having customers breaking the doors down for bikes and parts and having nothing to sell them.

Brickwell in Farmingdale has 200 bikes in the shop... 195 are repairs.
I stopped by Brands today and heard a salesperson tell a customer that all the bikes in the showroom were sold.

Both Merrick Cycles and Sunrise Cycles (their Babylon location) deal with a lot of road stuff and are dependable places. Merrick deals with Trek, Giant, Fuji, and Pinarello while Sunrise does Trek, Cannondale, and Cervelo.
As to price, road bikes seem to start more expensive, not certain why you can get a MTB for 500 but expect to pay 800 for a road bike of the same quality; perhaps supply and demand? Though really I think you need to hit the 1200-1400 price point for the best value on an affordable bike and with road bikes there are definite quality improvements as the price goes up and a real good one will set you back closer to 3k.

I went to Peak and wanted to buy a road bike. The salesperson told me it's tough to buy a new bike now and he couldn't order a bike for me, he didn't elaborate on why. But I didn't ask.
I also went to two Trek stores and same thing. All I see was empty bike rack. The road bikes are showing are like $8k and $10k range. I'm not sure I would need that. Those were eye candy, paint job were amazing.
So I visited Specialized and Trek website. It seems there are bike available in stores. So I would have to call them and drive there to pick it up. Hopefully there will be more bikes available for sale in the fall as demand should go down in cold weather.

Have any of you checked out Bellette Bicycles in Jamaica, Queens? It's my favorite bike shop. Sal is excellent, and he'll help you get whatever you need (supply permitting, of course,...):
