FS: Three Suntour 7 Speed Freewheels (2 Powerflo, 1 AP) all 13-28

FS: Three "Stealth" Suntour 7 Speed Freewheels. All freshly cleaned and lubed in the Spa and ready to ride. Payment through PayPal invoice. Price includes shipping and insurance in the US via Priority Mail. International extra. Each is 13-28 and marked as indexing. I honestly don't know if this is Suntour or Shimano indexing.

First up the two Powerflo freewheels which have shaped, HG like teeth, and a cassette like lockring which secures all the sprockets. I discovered that a sealed cartridge BB Tool fits the lockring.

$40 for the two notch one. Sprockets show slight wear and one corner of the notch is slightly deformed.

$50 for the four notch PowerFlo. Very minimal wear and the removal notches are in excellent condition.

$50 for the AP. SOLD: Sprockets, body and notches are in excellent to pristine condition. I doubt "suspect" this one was barely ridden.

That is an odd statement. Did you mean "suspect" instead of "doubt"?

GLWS. I did not realize Suntour freewheels ever had shaped splines. At first glance, I thought they were worn. Interesting...

Thank you.

Yes, "suspect" would be a better choice for a description that the freewheel has seen little use.

I believe "teeth" is a better description of the specific part of a sprocket which engages the chain, verses "splines." Jus' sayin'

The PowerFlo models are at the end of Suntour's illustrious history of producing freewheels. Their "swansong," so to speak.

I know that the "AP" freewheel should index correctly with SunTour Accushift. But what about the "Powerflow"? Is the spacing on these the same across all 7 cogs to run correctly with Shimano 7 speed?

Just compared a PowerFlo to a Shimano Sante 7 speed and the spacing is different. It's also different from the Suntour AP. My guess it uses a unique indexing.

Great free wheels especially if you’re good with friction shifting. I like 13 28s better than 14 28 s as that lets you downsize the outer ring a bit while still retaining a decent high gear.

Okay, color me confused. Since these are freewheels, not cassettes, what is the purpose of the lockring?

Also, I assume these are English threading. Can you confirm?

i'll just take a stab at it based on what i know of the non-ramped AP freewheels. at least on the 7spd japan made one/s i have, the first/smallest sprocket threads on to the body to retain the remaining cogs which are splined and slide on (like with shimano cassettes) vs screwing on as with other/older suntour freewheels. so, perhaps the power flo, all sprockests are splined and the lockring, of course, retains them onto the body. maybe?
