Well, it definitely wasn't me!

The 1992 XO-3, and then the 1993 and 1994 XO-4 and XO-5 were 700C machines.

Any excuse to repost my wife's 7900. Vintage CF!!
It's her favorite bike by far.

Oh, and that sticker on the fork? "My headtube angle is slacker than yours!"

Here's a repost of one of my 1995 Trek 730's in it's final form. When I posted it three years ago, I was heading in a road'ish direction but ended up preferring a more stretched out, MTB'ish build. I've retired the Trek and transferred all the components over to a 2008 Surly Karate Monkey frameset which literally has almost the exact same geometry with the exception of a longer top-tube, which is an improvement for me.

Possibly! All the XO-1s and XO-2s of all years had 26, and the XO-3 in 1993 and 1994 also had 26.

The Kenda Hybrid Nimbus and Hybrid Knobby are excellent and inexpensive. These bikes have a light, buttery ride, handle a variety of terrain, and are cheap to boot. Later, I found a Miyata TripleCross with a slightly taller frame and Bontrager H2 tires. I added tall seat and quill stems, sprung seat, riser handlebars, and bam!
What vintage is #3 I love the curved TT.

#3 is a 1999 Specialized Crossroads Sport with curved tubes and v-brakes as stock. This one has slightly different steering – it holds a straight line a little better than the rest. It has a 1-1/8 threaded headset and came with a narrow, 23" riser bar and some nice Vittoria Randonneur Cross tires. I replaced the suspension seat stem with a rigid model, and replaced the defunct Ride Rite adjustable handlebar stem with an adjustable model that perfectly matches the Specialized Strong Arm cranks. I recently switched the seat to a Selle Royale Moody Spring. I dress up my seat stems with electric tape to add graphic interest and to disguise any tall extension that seems awkward to me. This was the last model made in Cro-Mo steel. In 2003 they re-introduced the Crossroads as an aluminum comfort bike with shocks.

nice bikes. I have a SCOTT SANTA FE XC series bike frame that is going to get that treatment as well.
And looking for a trek multitrack frame or complete bike.
there is on the local CL a schwinn crisscross for 150.. is this a reasonably price?

just bought a Kona dew (the standard one without disk brakes) .... fair price I paid (not a bargain, but not too expensive) .... it's still at the LBS, as I asked for a full service plus new tyres and a pannier rack and mudguards added, new pedals, new chain, new cassette etc etc

will use this as my 'shopping bike' .... I have very good pannier bags to match

took it for a short ride before buying and i'm well impressed .... it's pretty quick

Depends on the condition. If its been fully refurbished, paint is good, and has new tires- that could be a solid deal. Its tough to find a bike in good cosmetic and mechanical condition for less than $150.

If the bike hasnt been touched in 2 decades, and paint is bubbled, it may/will need a lot of time and some money invested to get it into riding condition.

1990 Schwinn Crosscut. Quickly becoming my go to ride.
Call me crazy, but I am seriously considering a set of red T-Serv tires for it.

NOT a hybrid. A city bike like the Raleigh Sports. The city bike was the ancestor of the modern hybrid. A modern hybrid also is a cross of road bike and MTB influences. Its like a sports touring bike with flat bars.

love hybrids. Thats all i wanted when i joined bikeforums a few years ago. I owned a trek 700 growing up and i loved it. I sold it to my brother who then had it stolen. I converted my Trek 930 into a pseudo hybrid to recapture the joy of riding hybrids. It is currently configured with drops/brifters.

I stared at a white H.S.in mint condition for a month on craigslist until it sold for $80 and then of course was mad ever since. Haven't seen a single one for sale since.
Not sure if it fits the hybrid title but the geometry is pretty cool. This model also came in black chrome, one of the coolest colors ever but good luck finding them in good condition

Thrift store Scott cost me a double sawbuck. Replaced the stripped Grip Shifts with Suntour thumbies, gave it a rack, new cables and a chain and it's now my son's full time commuter. Made in China, heavier than I'd like but balanced and roadworthy with good rubber. Cole says fenders are for geeks and wouldn't let me put them on. I say wait until he commutes through this winter. B4 pic, no after
