Sun Block Sleeves

I just bought a pair of Pearl Izumi 40+ upf white sleeves to protect my lower arms from UV. Adds a bit of heat, but it's moisture wicking, and I can skip the sun block. I recommend them.

Got sun poision on my fore arms. Usually lather up with sunblock on commutes. Some days I use a long
sleeve nylon shirt. A friend has sun poisioning on the top of one ear. Thanks for the tip.

I had a thought related to this. I've been spending time at the pool and have taken the usual precautions, sunblock etc. Anyway, I remember as a kid I would make fun of kids that would wear shirts in the pool. I'm thinking with all the new UPF protective fabric, this would lessen the need and expense of sunblock. Just wear your UPF long sleeve shirt and forego the sunblock. What do you think?

I have some of those PI sleeves too but I don't wear them as often as a full cooling long sleeve shirt. The sleeves cut into your bicep so not as comfortable to wear for many hours. Also a full long sleeve cooling shirt takes the sweat from your pits and spreads it out to your chest, back, and arms for more cooling effect.

have a pair of the sleeves too, have not tossed them into my bag yet but am about to. Putting on a layer of screen is getting old just for the 40min ride home but I'm too white not to.
Long sleeve champion shirts are in my future buying list for winter and summer use.
