Todays commute here in the PNW
Oh man it was perfect riding today. Just north of 65 degrees here this afternoon not a cloud anywhere and no wind to speak of. Its gonna be nice till thursday evening. I gotta feeling we are gonna be answering for this in a few more days. It could stay like this till spring then get nice if I had my way.

Same here in Northern Colorado. Only blemish today was my chain broke as I arrived at work and didn't have the right tools to fix it properly. As a result, it was gimped on the way back and was skipping one sprocket tooth everytime around. Wouldn't you know it, this is the day a roadie comes up behind me and passes just as I was settling down to cruise (fellow bike traffic is rare on this stage of my commute). Little did he know, I hadn't reached my cruising speed when he passed, so I tailed him a few bike lengths back for the next 8 miles or so. I doubt he was expecting me to keep up, as he was carrying a banana on his late model carbon trek, while I was fully loaded for commuting with laptop, bike tools, change of clothes etc. all on my 78 Motobecane with a gimped chain (there is the odd hill on this stretch, by the way). I had plenty of reserve to challenge him, but the chain wasn't having it.

I'd be happy if we paid all week, and it was like this Saturday and Sunday.

I envy you all in the PNW, but I'll join you soon enough. Raining like crazy here today, I may walk.

Yep great here too. Tomorrow looks like the end of the bluebird weather for a while, maybe a few months quite a while.

I was telling my wife when I got home today today and yesterday were the two most enjoyable commutes I have had all summer, for some reason the warmth and the smell of the leaves made it just perfect.

It's been in the 50's, cold and raining here in Austin (and wiiindy). Now that I've got some cold weather gear, it actually wasn't bad at all. I think I might actually survive commuting for my first winter with my pride intact!

I've got to say that here in Chicago, we've had an exceptionally dry October. The biking has been first rate. Autumn is by far the best bike riding weather (except for a few windy days).
