Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What camera did you use to take photos of your bike?

After reading numerous threads and pictures, I've noticed that many people have extremly good quality shots of their bike - some almost as good as what they show on website stores. So just wondering - are bike junkies also camera junkies?

I've already spent $4k+ on bike stuff over the past year, also love golf so another expensive hobby. Used to take pictures a lot, but kind of dropped that hobby, although I'm eyeing a Nikon D80 with the Nikkor 18-200mm lens. That's another $1.3k...sigh...

What camera do you guys have?

You are looking at a great setup. Add a SB-800 and you would have my camera. Takes great shots. The lens is awesome!

My sister has a pretty good camera, Canon Rebel, so I borrow hers alot. I personally won't shell that kind of money on a camera. Get a decent $300 camera and read some books.

True enough... it's really about the size of your wallet. There are shots that only money can buy.

I use my P&S digicams most of the time, but when the need arises... out comes the Pentax 10D. Some of my lenses are 25+ years old. Pentax digital SLRs are about the only ones that are truly backward compatible with old manual focus lenses.

Canon 30D, with an assortment of lenses. 24-70mm 2.8L, 10-22mm, and a 50mm 1.8.

It isn't about the camera.... more a function of the glass.

Let's put a carbon fork there. Yeah, a nice carbon fork.

But he's lonely there, let give him some friends, shall we! A carbon stem here, a carbon handlebar there, and finish is off with some carbon seat post and saddle.

1DMk2N + 24-70L + 580EX (w/diffuser). Other shots were taken with my brother's Nikon D2X + 17-55 f/2.8.

I agree with others that a simple Rebel can do wonders if paired up with good glass, knowledge of lighting, and of course, some post processing.
