What's the point in starting a bunch of threads if you're not going to participate in them?

I was actually interested in having a discussion about water bottles coming out of the bottle cage. I've had it happen to me several times.

If this isn't a troll, then the OP would gain some support and encouragement to continue to carry water on their rides. To me, riding more than a half hour with no water is not the brightest thing to do. After all they did say....
I might no longer be able to carry water on my bike.
So maybe they might have benefited if they acted interested in the issue and participated to steer the conversation as they wished. And just ignore those that continue to be snarky.

Don't know if they were made, but there are plenty of solutions to carry water on a bike and not experience the issue the OP had.

???

He won’t respond because people give him a hard time but creates threads knowing people are going to give him a hard time?

That doesn’t make sense.

Sorry guys. I am back. Not sure why everyone wanted to know where I was. I changed my water bottles to the ones that clip in. Got them from the store. They seem to work. I guess I forgot to respond.

I hope we don't start seeing warning labels on bottle cages now.

To each their own, seems you've found an un-tested solution to a perceived problem. I'll keep my current bottle cages.

I've never worried about what grip to use. Is that a thing?

For me, bottle from down-tube cage = standard grip.
Bottle from seat-tube cage = "underhand" grip, so that I don't have to awkwardly manipulate the bottle one-handedly into standard grip.
Usually I just stop and swap bottles when the down-tube bottle is empty.

I don't want anything swinging from my shoulders when I ride. I'm not sure if it's dangerous, but it's definitely a nuisance.

I'm pretty sure the grip thing was a joke.

DITTO!!! A nuisance, and an unneeded distraction.

I've had stuff get into spokes. Always do a pre flight, use electricians tape a lot, to secure stuff.
Remember Breaking Away.
In Texas summer a camel back is useful, and easy to sip from.

One of my favorite sayings is "Good enough is good enough". This does not apply, unfortunately, to frame pump length. The pump may "fit" between the braze-ons, but will jar loose when the going gets rough. Braze-ons that are 19" apart at the vertical section require a 20" pump, not 19". On the bright side, I do not have any Italian cycling teams near-by

ITT, cyclist makes poor decision, leading him to a conclusion that will result in even worse decisions.

Not possible to trip while riding a bike!
Gotta have feet on the ground - walking, running, dancing, etc. - to Trip, Stumble and Fall. (Thanx to John Phillips)
