Shimano BR 6600 Removal

Hello,
I am attempting to remove a Shimano 6600 front brake calliper from the front fork and do not want to damage it.

Should they slide out easily? The caliper has never been removed and I purchased the bike in 2006.

So far I have removed the rear bolt with a hex key, and have hit it lightly with a punch in attempt to push it through to other side, but it does not move.

Regards
Ben

Try grasping the caliper at the front and twisty/wiggly pull it out

I took both your recommendations and was able to remove it with brute force.

Since the brake has been in place for a long time, it's common for dirt and possibly corrosion to bind the fixing bolt in the fork crown hole. What you experienced is not uncommon. Clean everything and lightly grease the bolt and threads before reassembling it.
