"Purpatrator" sounds like a early-90s mountain bike model. In a speckle purple paint job, of course.

(deftly avoiding the topic of using public right of way for temporary storage of privately-owned vehicles...)

Not as serious as the big sign that hung in the Krass Brothers clothing store on South Street in Philadelphia back in the 60's and 70's that read "SHOPLIFTERS WILL BE SHOT."

The Brothers had crazier TV ads than Crazy Eddie!

I worked at 4th & South for a time. Used to take the No. 40 bus down there. Would often have to stop while Ben Krass got out of his yellow Rolls Royce convertible in front of the store. He was always accompanied by much younger women.

Late in life he lived at the Korman Suites at 20th & Hamilton. He would occasionally drink at McCrossen’s Tavern across the street. By then, he looked fossilized.

Mutumbo, from the Sixers, lived there too. He would call the tavern for a table. The place would reserve him one in the back of the dining room so he would have enough legroom.
