Pics of Criterium/Prestige Ft. Derailleurs
Here's what I tried to send via PM, but couldn't upload...lets see if this works.
1. A nearly new Criterium (silver cap/chrome clamp and bolts), perfect working order, perfect chrome, no cage wear...just a little grease near one of the screws that I didn't notice until now. It was mounted on an almost new Peugeot, and I had an extra NOS cage that I put on it. $50, shipped.
2. A very good condition Criterium that I removed from my Gitane Tour de France when I upgraded my derailleurs to SLJ. Has about 1,500 miles on it. Slight chrome flaking on right side clamp bolt; Slight internal wear on cage. $40, shipped.
3. A very good condition Prestige (red cap/zinc clamp & bolt) that I removed from a friends Peugeot U-08, when she upgraded her bike. $30, shipped.
Hope this helps! If you have any questions about them, particularly details on mounting and aligning without cracking, let me know...they're tricky.

very nice condition, but i'm looking for the rod operated type referred to as suicide shifters or clangers back in the day. i think i have a line on one, so it looks like i'm all set.

Got it...Criterium was the keyword I honed in on...didn't get the 'mad scientist' allusions.
Best of luck!

thanks for the effort! the lever operated simplex that i wanted was the competition, and it was able to handle a very wide chainring range. I'm finally getting the 1950 claud butler sport anglais back in the game, and i'm going all period correct simplex. and yes, i know that wasn't stock, but i've got a nice set of parts laying around so gonna use em.
