Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

2009 Specialized Tarmac Elite... All the snow in Kansas CIty is preventing me from getting any road miles recently... I spend my time on the road to nowhere (trainer).

Nice photography zackhughes.

MuddyMo - nice tarmac! Looks much nicer than the current paint scheme they have for the Tarmac Pro, which looks like naked carbon.

After almost a year on here I figured I'd chime in finally.

Been riding an 83 Schwinn Peloton for the past couple of years and am replacing it with a new 09 CAAD 9 6.

That tarmac pro color is sick. Understated and fast.

How do you like the r700 crank? I just got one a week ago and it seems real solid so far. Running 50/34 on my road bike.

R700 is pretty good, pretty hefty though. I wish they would finally release a Dura Ace compact, or maybe a DA cross version

EDIT: I am aware of the new DA 7950 crankset that came out recently. I guess I meant 'why did they never make a 7800 compact
w/ a 110BCD?' It seems like the demand was there. I have yet to try any of the 7900 stuff out, don't really see a reason to. From everything I've heard, it takes a step back from 7800 in most respects (compact cranke excepted, of course)

Compared to my FSA Omega, the r700 is a lightweight haha. Plus they are heavily discounted at Jenson right now.

That is incredibly hot. I am envious. I rarely care for tires which are anything but black. Huge exception here.

Edit:: Except for the SPD pedals
