I had the misfortune to have agreed to work on a couple of those for a neighbor during the pandemic. Two zeroes is right...... however $0.06 would be the correct arrangement.

Not an RB-1 but nice lugs and it looks like a decent resto-mod.

lol I know exactly where that pin is dropped, it's on the "Delmar Loop", just down the street from the Moonrise Hotel where I stay if I'm in St Louis on business (also the original St Louis Bread Company (aka Panera)) is there, a pretty good BBQ restaurant called Salt & Smoke, a place to get fusion Korean Tacos, Pi Pizzeria which has a unique cornmeal crust (and is a pun on 314 being the StL area code) ...

When riding this bike you must sing-song the Crest "siren" - "Cre-est! Cre-est! Cre-est!"
This was only one of the Crest team's vehicles, They had submarines, fighter planes, and the "Crest Mobile" I like to think they loaded the bikes into the back of the "Crest mobile" -

Oh yeah, I'm in the heart of Deere country and these things are as common as Schwinn Varsities around here but it's also common to see them with asking prices like this. Needless to say they don't sell. Even the decent ones at $25 don't sell. I had a friend about 30 years ago who had a literal truck load of them and took them to various bike swap meets and never sold a one. He was finally to the point he was going to scrap them but he had another friend who was an auctioneer who told him to bring them to an upcoming auction of John Deere machinery and memoribilia . He sold every single one, he didn't get a lot for most of them but he got more than they would have given him at the scrap yard. When Deere stopped selling bikes my cousin was a forklift driver at Deere PDC in Milan, IL and they had a salvage yard bring in a portable compactor for crushing cars, he said he dumped brand new ones in it by the pallet load.

Ugh. What "reputable" frame builder would do this to a classic 531 French bike?

Grand Records are common enough so it's not as though *that* one needed to be saved.
And even "reputable" framebuilders are craftsmen second, artists third - and tradesmen first.
If the customer has the dosh, well, the rent needs paying....
