Did you bring your inhaler? I am really bad at remembering to do that.

Yeah, I brought it. Its been as essential as bringing my wallet and keys for the last 15 years. Still, when it gets that bad, the inhaler only mitigates it.

More running and weights at this point. doing some heavier lifts in the off season and man that lactic acid is biting me in the but(literally) at work. Should add some swimming here soon along with some actual bike riding just nothing serious

As mentioned before, I have chronic lower back pain (herniated discs and scoliosis), and a few weeks ago I set up a standing desk at the strong suggestion of a PT.

Normally, around 200 TSS my back starts to give out. Not quite pain exactly, more like my lower back making its presence known, along with a lot of weakness in my glutes and legs -- basically the body saying "you are not allowed to make any more efforts."

Yesterday I did 93 miles with 10,000+ feet of climbing, 340 TSS. Felt amazingly good for the entire ride. Stopped twice to briefly (like 30 seconds) stretch hamstrings and lower back. Even after the ride I felt fine. Today I am standing at my desk and I can hardly feel the ride in my legs.

I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I am hopeful this might be a (minor) life changing fix!

It's ridiculous how fine I feel. I only drank 2 bottles of water on the whole ride, too.

Went for a run at lunch. Trying to mix it up a bit more during the fall. I may even do a 5 or 10k run. How 'bout that?

I did my first ride in a week, just the opposite of GC's epic. 58 minutes, 30 TSS. Nice and easy. No repercussions.

I think it was the last ride after work until spring, unless I commute in the fall or early spring. Went out at 6:30pm for an hour to ride hard, trying to get KOM's and explore a little. Got 2nd and 3rd on some hills in the area. So close! My max HR has been 189 in all of the races this year, which corresponds exactly to 220-age. Today I hit 195bpm on the first 2 minute climb. I guess that's my new max.

2:45 endurance ride. TSS 144. Unlike Fudgy and his collegiate buddys' blistering pace up OLH, I rode over to South SF to meet my wife for a lunch ride up Mount San Bruno. I climbed at tempo. When I left my house it was 62 degrees and I put on my Evade helmet. The top of MSB was 85 and it was really hot climbing - no wind. Bad helmet choice.

And that's why all the dorks here who bought those aero helmets ended up not using them for the most part.

Way too hot

I don't find the evade that much hotter, but I wear a headsweat with the prevail to avoid tanlines on my head.

Brings back memories. For a time I used to live off of Skyline in Pacifica and could see that mountain from my house. Every once in awhile I think about going back but its too cold up there!
