Chainring bolts 1x vs 2x
CRANKSET: SRAM Force® 1 carbon, X-SYNC chainring, 52T (hidden bolt) - 1x
I plan to replace the chainring + spider (S900 no hidden bolt). Is there a specific chainring bolts (length wise) I need to use or is it the same as the one used on a 2x?
TIA

They are not the same! Double bolts have a deeper shoulder to run though the outer ring, spider and some of the inner ring. If you use that with a single, the nut will butt up against the shoulder, never be fully tight and you will rapidly elongate both the chainring and spider holes. It will not be long before you cannot come even close to taking the play out. Fast way to take expensive cranksets and drop their value to below Walmart specials. (I did this to a (fortunately only) mediocre Sugino a million years ago back when money was tight. Lesson learned. (I'm not at my bikes now. I don't remember if it the bolt's shoulder or the depth of the nut's sleeve, but either way, doubles are too long to work!)
I don't know the numbers for shoulder depth or overall length. Just make sure they are for a single chainring.

Looks like you are right. Decided to get a 1x chainring bolt.
Reason I was asking because I was not sure and I have a 2x set lying around here somewhere.
