Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Oh dear. I see Pcad had to say goodbye to Sam. That is terrible news. Sorry for your loss, pcad.

I look back and wish I could take back all the jokes I made about eating Sam.

I'm so glad he's out of pain. I didn't realize how incredibly stressful having a terminally ill dog that you love so much was until now. I'll miss him so bad, and there will be more mourning, but it's a tremendous relief. I was constantly worried about Sam for the last year.

He was a total gift. My very first dog, and I can't imagine having a more wonderful experience.

Sounds like our dog. I dread the day something bad happens. My kids will be crushed (along with their parents). But all the good memories will help get through it (I hope).
