Singlespeed Sunday

Sunday is a good day for a Singlespeed ride. I have a modified Nashbar with Sun Tour shock. Rainy and muddy here today so I had to do a road ride. 8 miles through the neighborhood. Not enough miles but I enjoyed every second!

Did you ride SS today?

Not today, but I did ride my single speed yesterday morning. I hope to do it again tomorrow morning before I have to report to work.

I started riding the SS every Sunday (at a minimum). I’m getting excited once again about single speed MTB.

Why I surely did! I had no choice, I put a new crank on it just yesterday evening.

"Singlespeed Sunday" has a nice ring to it. I'll have to try it! It's probably been 6+ months since I've ridden my Wabi.... Typically I'm racing my track bike every Tuesday night around now, but lockdown and stuff.

I plan on hitting a big ass solo road ride on Saturday, maybe I can spin out the legs on Sunday a bit in my low gear (42/17).

15 miles on the local greenway yesterday. I need to step it up next Sunday and head to a trail again. Things are dry here now.

I missed Single Speed Sunday thanks to my single speed breaking a spoke on the rear on Friday (the 5th) morning's ride. I heard the "tink" when it happened and the rear wheel wobbled like it had a flat, as viewed from the saddle.

Since the rear brake is a coaster, I had no issue pedaling the remaining few miles home. Gotta get me some spare spokes, though.

OT, but where are you in SE Texas? I grew up in Victoria.

There used to be a "Post pics of your geared bike" thread but I can't find it - so hope you won't mind if I drop a couple Multi-gear Monday pics here?

I finally repaired the rear wheel of my single speed yesterday and gave it a test run before sunset.

Which means, I got to have a Single Speed Sunday ride this mornin', which was long overdue. I made sure to give blood samples to the local mosquito population while I stopped to snap this pic. I await the Covid 19 test results from all the blood that was drawn.

Your picture reminds me of my SS Sunday as I had to stop at a tree to excape a downpour from a thunder storm. Made it home and still got in over 30m.

I really enjoy riding it. Very comfortable ride as its more upright than my road bikes. I love powering the big gears setup.

Well I didn't make it out for SS Sunday (too windy lol) but I did ride my SingleSpeed yesterday (Saturday).
However, I did ride my Indie today mostly in one gear.....until I hit the hills.
