RALEIGH CAMPAGNOLO BIKE - Vintage $500 - $500 (Tacoma)

Yes looks like a pro. Mismatched rear wheel, brake levers are wrong, I cant quite tell but maybe calipers arent right either. Seapost looks like an sr laprade. Pedals have been changed out. Not much remains.

It *is* my size, wonder if there's a deal to be made with the part swaps, hah.

Is that the same as the limited edition Professional?

Rene Herse "Cyclocamping" 50cm - eBay auction

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/R-Herse-cycl...wAAOSw9d5fh4nT

Extremely rare Rene Herse 1970 Cyclo-camping bicycle in expensive Vitus tubing
50 cm c to c seat tube, top tube 54,5 cm c to c..
Amazing back carriers with beautiful Sologne bags
The bike is uncleaned and presented in genuine as found condition, the paintwork is like new
Beautiful lugwork, ideally set off by the black and gold paint.
Parts are very nice : Huret Luxe front and back, Philippe professionnel bars, Philippe stem, Ad-Hoc bell, Stronglight cranks with TA 48/32 chainrings.
Mafac cantilevers, RH carriers front and back, Lyotard pedals, Cibie dynamo, lights most likely non-original.
Wheels: Normandy, Super Champion 650 good logos, Bell wing nuts at the front, Bell nuts at the back.
Lefol Le Paon mudgurads, excellent condition.
Very nice example of an early 70s RH in truly excellent condition, it's rare to find paintwork in such good condition.
The bike has great style in this colour combination, and with the very rare rear low-slung bags
Ready to ride, except for the original but not road-worthy Wolber Super Randonneurs
Some parts appear earlier than 1970, but it was not uncommon for buyers to ask RH for a bike with older parts still in stock in shop, or parts taken from a favourite bicycle. I believe this bike left the RH shop in 1970 as it is now.

No, no shenanigans. Typical ebay bidding. I'm sure that the price will skyrocket once there's less than a day left. I'd be surprised if the current high bid isn't really at least $500, to be surpassed once the bid sniping kicks in.

RALEIGH CAMPAGNOLO BIKE - Vintage $500 - $500 (Tacoma)

I agree that this is a Raleigh Professional. It looks like a Mark III to me which, if correct, would put it in 1971. Based on the proportions, I would guess it to be a 22 1/2" frame though maybe an inch shorter. Peter Kohler does an excellent write-up on these bikes in his "On The Drops" blog https://on-the-drops.blogspot.com/20...p-raleigh.html. Peter and others have said that the build quality of the Raleigh Pros from this era was some of the best and based on the close-up of that lower head lug, this bike looks to have excellent joinery. That is not always the case with vintage Raleighs! As previously noted, a number of parts have been swapped out but I also see parts that likely are original to the bike (crank, handlebars). The ad is short on pictures but if the condition of the frame is as it is represented in the images provided, then $500 is not a bad price IMHO. It is not a great deal but not exorbitant. I have two Raleigh Pros, a 1970 Mk I and a '74 Mk IV. If this bike were in my size I would be interested, especially if the price were negotiable.

Yeah, don't need it urgently so it's going in my "wait and see" folder for now, if it's still available in a few weeks, well....

Thought it got sold but it's back online: restored/repainted Grandis frame for $350

Looks like someones account got hacked. Saw some of his stuff early in the week. He went from low end general household items to 50K plus very high end items listed. All same thing. Don't bid, send $3K to my web site. Reported it to Ebay fraud on Sunday, not that that usually does much good.

The stem and handlebar on that one are too cool. It was also fun trying to "read" some Dutch without using translator. I did not fare well.

I had no idea about the bike as never seen one in the flesh. This wasn't my size but still a nice bike in it's real life.
That'd be the second forgery I've seen this summer. Might email seller and ask what's the story.

Beautiful 60cm Motobecane $99 Chicago burbs

This looks like a good price but way too big of a frame for me. Seller said it’s 23.5 inches so about a 60cm frame
