We just brought this little girl home. Her favorite toy is the nitrogen ball that comes in the cans of Guinness Draught.

Born July 10.

Thanks! My daughter has two cats, but she is going to be moving out. We also have a yellow lab mix. We weren't looking to get a kitten, but they were born at my dad's house just before he passed, so she kind of gives us a connection to him. He took in the mom when she started hanging around his deck. She acted like a dog, coming to greet guests, and hopping up on the sofa to get pets. When the kittens were born, he put the box in his living room so he could keep an eye on them.

That earlier Polaroid film had a very distinctive smell. I am assuming that you are talking about the black and white Polaroid film from the cameras that had the lens board and bellows. They took some clear pictures. Then you had to wipe it with a chemical, perhaps a stop bath or something. I don't know what was in there. It smelled a little sweet and a lot like nothing I had ever smelled before or since. {I must resist the rabbit hole that I see. Stick to bicycles.}

I was thinking of the 'rocket' widget, but I guess that's just in bottles?

This is what comes in the cans?

I used to have cats whose favorite toys were colored ping pong balls that had rattles inside.

Yep, that's the one. I had to drink another pint last night so we have a spare for when she bats it under the dresser.

My wife was able to get her to pose for a brief moment before she went back to chasing the Guinness ball. She will be 13 weeks old tomorrow.

Ok, I need a little advice....

My most recent litter had 6 kittens. 3 with extra fluff. 3 with short hair.

Of the fluffy ones, there is one female, and 2 males.
All three of the short haired kittens are females. Two "torties".

Pictures:
Fluffy Female
Fluffy Male
Two Short Haired Females.

All from the same litter.

The fluffy kittens are significantly bigger than their littermates.

I don't know who the father is.

My two females, and all their littermates had no white. All of their kittens from a few litters, including this one litter have had white paws, and some facial/chest white.

So, I'm ready to give away kittens.

I started wanting a Maine Coon. However, I have no idea if that is just my imagination that I could have accidentally gotten a cross.

The fluffy female is a bit shy. I'm pretty sure she'll grow out of it, and she is already getting a bit better.

So, I was going to keep the fluffy female. However, breeding her would be problematic... inbred?

I have one person that wants the fluffy female.

I could also keep the darker fluffy male (get him fixed).

I suppose in part I'm rather curious what happened here.

I'm considering ordering a genetic test.

There could be as many as six fathers for that litter. Any litter can have as many sperm donors as there are kittens.

Keep one who chooses you, (should you be fortunate enough to have one choose you.)

I don't think that concept works when one has a whole litter, and they all start vying for attention.

One can't keep them all.

I have a theory that domestic kittens have a strong maternal bond. However, somewhere around 2 to 3 months the mothers begin to wean the kittens, and they turn to the human companions that provide food, water, and social interaction.

When I was given some feral kittens to foster a couple of years ago, it was extraordinary how quickly they transitioned from feral to bonding with humans.

It's not a "concept," it's a practice.

Am not suggesting you adopt all: "Keep One Who Chooses You" is pretty clear?

There's a difference between "vying for attention" and "choosing."

Have always been able to tell the difference between some animal's interest in food, shelter or security, and another animal's interest in true companionship.

But you do you.

Well, I have a slightly older kitten that has started peeing on me.

I think he has decided to mark me as "HIS".

He needs to go to the vet soon for some "surgery".

That Fluffy Female looks more Skogkatt then Main Coon. If so then ya better get rid of her FAST! Because very soon you will not be able too.

Even mixed breed Skogkatts are keepers...

Neutering a male cat doesn’t always solve a problem of spraying or peeing. I had a neutered male cat many years ago, would spray the inside of our bedroom windows. He was living with an older male cat, they seemingly got along with each other, but younger guy sprayed the Venetian blinds. It was easy to clean with no residual odor so we just dealt with it. Then older companion cat passed away and younger cat stopped spraying. I assumed some form of competition that we were unaware of, existed.

Maggie is nearly full grown. May still be on the growth path as she is only 15lbs. This is one of her frequent sleep positions.

New add to the house. I already have 2 brothers, 2-1/2 years old. Their older female companion Zoey passed away last May. We are adding Kash, a 10 year old female. Unfortunate story in that Kash has lived with and been raised by my nephew in Brooklyn who moved 3 mos.. ago with his wife and 3 year old son, to Barcelona, Spain. They have returned for 2 weeks, partly to facilitate taking Kash back to Spain. The rules are Vet bill of health, PLUS a State of NY certificate of health that is only good for 5 days on either side of the travel day, PLUS paying the airline somewhat north of $1000 to get the cat into the plane cargo hold. The NY State certificate has proven hard to get, as well their living situation in Barcelona is questionable (apartments are scarce), plus the airline fees are a burden. Thus we offered to adopt Kash, who has boarded with us on 2 occasion in her youth and whom we very much like. She arrives any moment now, we have clipped the nails of the 2 existing ragmuffins and I have added a 4th litter box. Hopefully all goes well.

Poor Felix has broken his paw, had it fixed, and is staying in his own little apartment for a while to keep him out of trouble:
