Finally back on wheels

It's been several months of waiting after getting the itch, and several years since I've ridden, but I finally purchased a new bike today from the LBS. I didn't think they would have what I wanted in stock, but there was 1 that just happened to be the model, frame size, and color I was looking for. Got the 2016 Trek 7.2FX in black. Everything is stock at the moment, but I plan to add water bottle cage and new grips, maybe a new saddle (after giving the stock a chance). Looking forward to getting out with it.

Congrats! Get a cage and an insulated water bottle to go with it ASAP.

Thanks everyone!

Took my first ride today. A little over 4 miles. Not an amazing start, BUT, a start nonetheless. My legs are a good tired, and my elbows and wrists are a little sore. Also needing to figure out a way to..."adjust" myself on the saddle. Looking forward to getting more miles in over the summer!

That's how I started also! Keep at it and you will get stronger, quicker and want to do longer and longer rides! There's a whole world out there to be explored! Enjoy and be safe!

Quick update: Am still loving it. Have had it for almost two weeks now with at least one ride a day (as many as four). Tonight upped the distance to 7.5 miles on some paved trails. Not a huge distance, but it felt good to go that far and still feel I could have kept going at the end.

I worried about the saddle being uncomfortable, but after the first 3-4 rides it's not much of a bother, at least for these shorter distances. My wrists however got a little sore tonight. Will eventually be trying some bar ends and gloves when I can afford them.
