Miles Per Water Bottle - MPWB
How many miles do you get on one water bottle? For me, I ran dry at the 32 mile mark but kept going and quit at 35 miles. My standard size water bottle holds about 700ml.

Clearly it depends on how hot it is and your personal hydration requirements . . . everybody's body is different.

It depends, Last in year in AL or MS, I was going through 2 bottles an hour (1 bottle every 10 miles or so) and was still thirsty, this time of year in Michigan however, I can do 100 miles on 2 bottles

How do you just quit at 35 miles? Were you doing 3 mile loops around your house? An alternative would have been to stop and fill your bottle.

What's up with all these water questions? 16-24oz/hour on a nice day and you're fine.
Although I hear that the less water your drink, the more pro contracts you will receive, or at least that's what some posters think.

I drive out of the city then start my ride. I've been increasing the distance on the round trips back to my car. Not many places to refill. A few gas stations that would probably sell you some water. I'll have to look around more. I'm not really planning on doing more then 50 miles anytime soon. I'll just carry more water for right now. The camelbak things seem interesting but who wants to have a snorkel hanging on their shoulder while riding. Not.

Depending on the weather and intensity I do a 21oz bottle every hour, if it's super fast I don't drink as much, if it's slow I might drink more. I typically drink less than I should, for some reason I drink a lot when I do intervals I guess it's because I have the rest intervals. Today I was stupid and did 60 miles in the heat with two 21oz bottles and two gels, didn't feel so hot in those last 10 miles.

I drank 3 bottles (24 oz.) on my 32 mile ride today.
I drank less than 1.5 bottles on my 32 mile ride two days ago.
I drink when I sweat a lot or am otherwise thirsty. I don't drink when I'm not.
Your mileage may vary.

obviously it's just a guideline.
colder, less effort, less required
hotter, more effort, more required.

Back on topic, my general rule is 1 bottle per HOUR, a little more when hot, a little less when cold.
Has little to do with miles, that is a silly statistic. Per unit time is at least somewhat meaningful.
