Succession is great 8/10. A smorgasbord of dysfunctional (but rich) characters and good plotting and twists. Top notch acting.

Finally finished watching every episode, all seven seasons, in order, of The West Wing.

Holy crap what an excellent television series! 10/10
Great writing, great acting, genuinely engaging & provocative drama with just the right dose of humor.
And what a damning condemnation of how stupid both television, and White House staff, have become since.
Actually what was most surprising was how so many of the conflicts they examined in 1999-2006 are still happening today.

Anyone watching Ozark?

We have been metering our viewing such as not to consume too quickly being the last season and all.

I personally feel like Marty is setting everyone up for tying the crimes and people together in a way that allows him to step and live happily ever after. Faking his death maybe, considering the wreck in the first moments which has not been revisited (yet). We have three more to go, so please no spoiler until a couple of days from now, lol.

We've watched all of Ozark so far, despite the fact that we stopped watching back in the middle of S1. There was just too much stupidity. Are we really supposed to believe that FBI will move right into someone's casino and camp out there, waiting like a spider in a web? All the while the FBI agent and the casino owners speak congenially to each other? I have enjoyed Ozark, but disappointed in the over-the-top, unrelenting aggression from every character. I've had a really hard time throughout the entire series with my suspension of disbelief. The writers are asking a lot from us in order to present a story and make it work, but there is just so much to the storyline that simply defies all logic. Frank Senior's final confrontation with Darlene comes to mind. Mob boss visits to threaten someone and brings no henchmen? Unlikely. Despite my feelings for the writer/s, the acting is solid. Julia Garner is the shining star of this series, and she is the only reason I watch the show.

I mean, TV....

I understand completely where you are coming from, but at the same time we can't really hold the "reality candle" to every form of video entertainment we see. I can't recall EVER having a bunch of dimes magically appear when I opened a beer either. I think Hondo Gravel does though...

I totally agree with you about the reality thing concerning television. It applies to pretty much all forms of entertainment. Perhaps the real problem lies from binging a whole series - watching it from E1 to the series finale. I get tired of it after a while, and want it over with. I have Aspergers, so I quickly notice things that come up in patterns, or repetition. Incongruity kills me, especially when it makes no sense at all. It is those times when I feel like there should be someone in the writing team who stands up and says, "Hey guys, this is sh*te, and we need to write this better, because no one is going to buy it." Also, l thanks for the Hondo Gravel ref. I kinda miss that guy since I got kicked out of Foo. While I'm at it, here's a big shout out to ahsposo !

Peacemaker, HBOmax.

11/10 seriously, its that good.

I've never been a fan of John Cena. I've never been fond of the DC Extended Universe, but hands down, this is the most-original, and funniest television series I have seen in decades. John Cena has been excellent, and this series really kicks me in the funnybone. SO funny! The plot is great, the premise is excellent, despite this being a Suicide Squad spinoff. My wife and I laughed until we cried. Such a great diversion from the "covid new normal." Truly, I cant stop talking about Peacemaker!

I feel that same way about Sci Fi and fantasy type series. I prefer when they either base the 'reality' in physics we understand from our experience living in it, or that they explain the reason as to why this ability is available to them. Such as the Trek series and movies...they go on to explain that they have warp drives driven by crystals and that's why they can FF across the universe so quickly.

Watched the first two episodes of Reacher, the new mini-series on Prime Video. My wife, who has read all of the Jack Reacher books by Lee Child, was much happier with the more imposing and hunkier actor playing the lead, than Tom Cruise who played Reacher in the movies, and just didn't meet the physical requirements that are very much part of the Reacher personna in the novels

I liked the shows too, and will watch the next six episodes over a few more evenings..

We just finished the series. I'll give it a 8/10 overall, but I'd give it a 7 for accuracy when bumped up against the book. There were a few inconsistencies, but overall it was good. I'm a big Lee Child fan, and I've read six of the Reacher books so far. Choosing Alan Ritchson to star as Jack Reacher was a good decision. He's American, and his father was a GI, so Ritchson already knew a lot about the nature of Reacher's upbringing to be good for the role.. From what I understand, Child was never happy with the choice of Cruise for the movie roles. We all know that was simply insuring success at the box office.

I finished Gomorra yesterday and it's left me a bit of a shell of a man as far as TV goes, it would be sitting in a top 10 best shows ever list without a doubt, maybe even a top 5. It's unrelenting, bleakly realistic in it's portrayal of the lifestyle they live and die in, characters you originally maybe hated you grow to care about. There is a depth and time taken with even the smaller roles and the deaths are surprisingly hard hitting. Ultimately they are all underworld criminals and objectively get what they deserve, doesn't take away the impact of some scenes though.

Mindhunter. 8/10 - so interesting, especially learning about some of the US' most notorious killers.

Stranger Things on Netflix. It's one of my favorite shows. I watch US Netflix content mostle and I use best app vpn to bypass all restrictions and watch my fav shows from everywhere. Quite convy. This vpn provides the highest level of security with unlimited traffic and bandwidth.

Finished Reacher. Good series though it would be better if Reacher was wrong occasionally or indicated that being struck a dozen times by a crowbar being swung full force by an enraged opponent hurts. After all he is big and strong, but not supposed to be Superman

Started the Paramount+ series 1883 which is the prequel to the current show Yellowstone (the same family are in Fort Worth TX departing out west) and it is actually really well done.

Planning to start Righteous Gemstones season 2 here soon. Also started episode 1 of the new show Severence, and was OK...

Inventing Anna. Loved it. the true crime aspect really keeps you engaged. The accent is weird, it took me a few episodes to get past it.
