Here's my bike, just finished it. I'm hoping to take some better shots in the next week or two.
It's a SOMEC Lugo Di Romagna in Columbus tubing, with a rifled seattube, so I think it's SLX, but no sticker. The seat cluster is very cool and some great pantographing. I've built it with Campagnolo Record 10 speed components, not period correct! I think the frame is from about 1986.

I had grand plans of adding STI's to my '74 Raleigh International...but then I made a spreadsheet (optimistically) estimating the cost of conversion.
7-speed barcons it is! I do love the way they look on Japanese 80's steel bikes though.

A miasma of color. I'll bet it glides, quietly. I saw one of those in person once, and pictures don't do them justice.
Up close, they are hard to really see in less than 10 minutes. It takes a while to see all the details. Great build.

I loved my Master Olympic and it was hard to see it go.
Mine wasn't quite as decked out, with a 9 speed Chorus gruppo and Open Pros.
They are really comfortable all day riders.

Barcons to me are the right choice for an International. I used a donor bike for my Panasonic. It was a local pickup only Ebay bike that had been crashed (frame wrecked), and I was the only bidder.

I de-converted my early 1980s Mairag 531 conversion into a spring training bike to keep my speedy road bike clean. However, my recent acquisition of a 1983 Nishiki Continental has me thinking this should go back the way it was and the Nishiki should get these parts swapped over.
I was thinking about the build and it has parts from the 1970s (brakes), 1980s (headset, stem), 2000s chorus parts and cranks, 2010s (BB and bars, fenders, saddle)... I think I am missing the 1990s though I am trying to get a set of DA 7700 hubs for it. It would be cool to swap the post for a silver one too. I am not stoked on the black chainrings but even if I swapped them I would still have a black spider.
Also countries of Origin: Switzerland, Germany, Japan, Taiwan, America (king headset, Phil Ti BB), Italy, France, England and probably China, though i am not sure what part that would be.. probably things like cable housing and ferrules.

Well, it's hard to follow up the Colnago. Here is a trek 2300 that I built for my brother with everything that I had on hand. Tiagra shifters, ultegra FD, 105 RD, 105 brakeset, FSA energy crank (one of the best alu outboard cranks IMO). Also replaced that dumb alu fork with a woundup that I got on the cheap. The set up looks funky right now. Adapter may be switched out for a quill (or find a more graceful adapter/spacer combo), steerer will be cut down a bit once he dials his position, and the old saddle will probably be replaced.

I might hit you up on that.... The only thing is that the locknut will still be silver though.
Oh yes, clipless for sure. Just gotta get him riding first. He's going to need the rise for the handlebars. WHat do you think about getting a different adapter that sits flush (this one can't because of the taper) against the locknut. That way, it'll look a bit closer to a threadless setup. I don't think he cares much for CV aesthetics...
