can I use my car app for cycling?
Hello all, as per the title, I have an app on my phone that is used to measure the speed of my car, or when I'm on my other bike (motorcycle). can I use the same app for my bicycle, or is there something more specific? Thanks

Apps are tools, if that one does what you want then great!

Yup, but if you try to use your car app for bicycle routing, that might not work so well.

If your phone app gives you the information you want, then use it. My only thing would be do you need to see it while riding?
I've never had a cell phone I can see decently in sunlight.
To a lesser extent I'd not want to risk it getting knocked off the bars and clatter down the road. I like to keep my phone tucked away in my pocket. My GPS cyclometer shows me who is calling and even shows me the text message I may have been sent. So I seldom ever have to pull out my phone since no one calls me but telemarketers. Though occasionally my wife does call and say "come home".
Also, battery life on my phones can be short when using GPS and all the other bells and whistles along with keeping the screen on continuously.
But if you are new to riding. Then use it till you know you do or don't need something else. It's mostly what your personal preference is for.
