Tire reccomendation for silver frame

Hi,

I was wondering what tires you lot would reccommend I put on my silver vintage frame (circa '79). I am in the process of building up a wheelset (silver rims, silver spokes, silver hubs), and want to use tanwall/brown/yellow sidewall tires with file or slick tread. My go-to-choice are Panarcer Gravelking slicks (relatively cheap, nicely rolling and TLR) but I am looking for alternatives (prefferably affordable ). Currently using Challenge 700x25C tubulars.

The tubulars look silvery sweet to my eye.

Thanks, i do like the look of them too, but for the other wheelset with a more reasonable climbing cassette I would need clinchers/innertubes/sealant

You can get Challenge Strada Bianca clinchers aka open tubulars.

Vittoria Corsa is another option - the new graphics aren't as good as the old though. (Surprised to read that here, huh?)

I am so impressed with these that I am running them on just about everything. Now, the OP might not care but the max width offered is 28mm, which is OK by me -- if you want wider, black only is what I've seen.

Not opposed to 28 mm if they ride nice. I use the Mavic A319 rims for the wheelset. (afaik with a 19 mm inner width) hence i am not sure if 28 mm will fit properly.
EDIT: The weight is also nice, given how c h o n k y the rims already are

25 mm GP5K cream wall on silver rims (white frame)

they measure just above 23 mm installed on these rims - will install 28 mm next time (which will prob measure around 25 mm which should fit)

These are available with brown walls. Also, they come in tubeless ready and tubetype:

can’t recall - rims are Campy Omega 19

the 25mm Conti GP5K’s are barely wider than the 23mm Michelin Super Comp HD’s and Axial Pro’s installed previously ...

have you ridden GP5K’s ? they roll really well ...

pair them with a wheelset with Campy Record hubs and you will coast uphill lol

on a silver bike you will rarely need to pedal ... of course on a red bike you might be able to coast the entire ride
