Quick SS setup question
Instead of going out and buying a SS-specific chainring in the size I need, I'd rather just use one of my 10s chainrings. Will this be a big problem?

Thanks, I just measured the chainline on the crankset I'm going to use and it's the same as the chainline on my current fixie/SS... so hopefully I should be good to go! Thanks for the help!

I find that Chainrings with pins on them (see pic) tend to throw chains in a SS setup.
Youd have to run your chain really tight, which aint that good.
I'd look for rings that arent pinned.

That's what I figured when I gave my initial reply. Inner chainrings on double road cranks are pretty much the same, regardless of the rear gearing. They are devoid of shifting ramps, chopped teeth and pins, so they are perfectly suitable for single chainring applications. I have used 3/32 road inner chainrings on SS, FG and even a 1 x 6 cross bike without any chain drop problems, although I admit that I left the front derailleur in place on the cross bike to act as a chain guide.

i have an outer chainring with a pin on a fixed drivetrain. also, i use a nine speed chainring with ten speeds. the horror!
