Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I've got it comfortable but it's not fitted. The shop I bought it from was pitiful. I've got to get humble Tuesday and show up at my regular LBS with a bike he doesn't sell and get him to fit me to the bike. But I've done several 40 mile rides already and its a hoot. Quite the sports car.

I understand. There is quite the back story behind it, but essentially when the bike was being designed and built up, the initial font made it look like it said Manacocque. Since the bike was a one of a kind anyhow, I thought the word manocoque was just funny and a great name for a carbon bike. When the bike was built I had the font changed slightly but had them actually change to mAnocoque for the humor/namesake of the bike.
Feel like it is my sports car, whether it is for any kind of compensation or not, that's always people's first thought. And above anything else, it is definitely the best ice breaker for conversation about the bike. You only further that conclusion.

Thanks. Yes, I figured I'd have a while. But it's just sitting there on the work stand and whenever I go into the garage, I'll just grab the putty knife and take a few more bits off. It's therapeutic, almost.

My new baby. Replaced an Allez Sport I sold when I joined the service 3 years ago. I regretted it so much, my wife finally told me to just go buy another one to shut me up Needs a red saddle and red/blk bar tape in the short run. Needs wheels that are less hefer-ish in the slightly longer run.

Nice ride, and I agree, the tweaks you want to make would be nice. What gear set are you running?

Here is my Frankie Andreu - Motorola Team bike - I got this is 1991.. Been a great bike for all those years - a crazy mix of parts now but still rides smooth..

It's full 105. Thus far, it's been flawless.
