Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Here's my 2013 Trek Madone 5.2. Just brought her home today. Only changes 'so far' are my Fizik Aliante saddle, Ultegra pedals, Conti GP4000s tires, Lizard Skins bar tape, Garmin mount, and DuoTrap. Of course, it's pouring outside so I haven't had a chance to adjust it or ride it. Down pour or not, I was going to pick the bike up today. Awww yeah!

Thanks, agressor.
I see you have an Allez.
I sold mine and regretted it for a while, but the frame was a little too
big and I always felt too stretched-out on it. It was nice, though, and
I had it upgraded with all Ultegra Ice.
Here's a pic, probably, pre-upgrade:

First road bike build.

Mostly nashbar stuff to keep it on the cheap. Feeling out cycling before I go crazy on quality expensive parts.

Yes they said they would swap em, but what a huge pain in the ass. Ive since realized most bikeshops are incompetent asses an taken it upon myself to true wheels. They have been straight for over 300mi, and i like to bunny hop curbs and do stoppie and wheelies.

F having a bikeshop touch your bike. Pompous ********.

Think this might have something to do with your wheels going out of true?

Wheels with a 300lb weight limit shouldnt have any problem with a little bunny hop. Bottom line, 3 different lbs trued them, they went out of true almost immediately. I take the time to true them myseld, they have stayed true for months.

Hmmmm, lets see, rider 200lbs + bike 25lbs falling from 1' (bunny hop) according to Newtons law would approximate a weight of over 400lbs. Depending on whether you land on both tires or just one at a time might make all the difference. Doing a wheelie where the front tire is 5-6' off the ground might be triple these numbers depending how hard you bring the tire back down. As you seem to have solved the problem by trueing the wheels yourself why replace the wheels?

Note: I have absolutely no idea how much you weigh, only used 200lbs as an example.

Im talking about hopping up from flat to flat. Jumping up a curb to a side walk. I doubt ive ever dropped this bike down from more than 3-4 inches. And as far as wheelies, if you are slamming the feont down you arent doing it right. Gotta shift that weight. When does a front wheel eer get 5-6' off the geound(just ribbing i know you meant inches)

And im not going to return the wheels. I plan to beat the ever loving piss out of them untill thu fall apart and then im buying a set of flo's

Actually I was talking about 5-6' if your riding on the rear wheel the front tire would be considerably higher than 6" off the ground. And yes it would be best if bringing the front wheel down gently but as this is only a perfect case scenario and at times might not be so perfect you could in theory bring the front wheel down with quite excessive force and bend the rim in doing so. And riding up a curb might at times not time the hop perfectly and actually run into the curb as you hop and slam the wheel into the radius of the curb striking a very small surface area of the tire with excssive force and also knock the rim out of true or even do irreparable damage. I'm not saying this happened but it's definitely a possibility in the future if a continued practice.

I think the build quality is great. If you want to learn more about these and more frames go to Road Review forum under Chinese Ebay 6.0.

$300 for a carbon frame and fork.... I would never trust something that cheap.

I'm not sure if the price really matters about trusting the bike or not, I'd have more issues trusting the quality control of the bike.

It's pretty clear its a Chinese Pinarello knockoff, probably from the same factory that makes real Pinarellos, however, you're not getting the same quality control for the frame.
