I like getting out on Sundays before the sun rises.

Drove to Mountain House this morning. Smooth streets and bike trails. Wish I could ride to there but the road leading there is a small bypass that crazy commuters use to get around the morning backup. I don't have a death wish! Built a carrier for the back of my truck. 4- 2x4's and a small cutoff of 2x6. I use the Silverado's tie down loops
Today's ride was17.44. That's .05 miles longer than my longest.
Downsized my pic this time.

Rode today at Mountain House. It started as a planned community but not yet a town. I looked it up and as of 2020 it had 24,499 people. Census Bureau calls it a census -designated place. Anyway If you ride around the outskirts it is just shy of 7 miles. Today I did 3 circuits and finally broke 20 miles. Considering I first rode my new hybrid on the 12th of August I've come a long way. Oh and by the way I'm 69 and getting younger.
Today I'm a happy boy!

I did get out and ride today. Though I awoke at 3:30 and didn't ride until 7:45 so I could ride to work. I wanted to extend my ride home but having some errands that needed to be done after work I had to ride the direct route home. But the best part was when my boss called me and wanted me to go to the bank and get some $100 dollar bills changed to smaller bills. So I got my extra miles in as the bank was 2 miles one way from where I work. So a big win for me. The weather was quite windy today as hurricane Lee is getting closer to us.

I did ride to work today. It will be a direct route home as my granddaughter has a game this afternoon (she is doing cheering for a football team). It is her first time cheering(she is only 5). So I want to go watch. I get some riding and some grandkid time. It works.

I had a wonderful ride this morning of 20 miles on the American Tobacco Trail. Finally found the hybrid bike that I can just ride and ride in complete comfort - Kona Dew Plus. Talked with a guy who was touring, and got to say hi to some awesome dogs. Topped it off with a post-ride brew at Vicious Fishes Brewery.

I may seek out a higher-tooth cog for the big in back (have to confirm F36 / R 11/46 spec is what I have) before next year; there are some hills around town that challenge me to stay seated rather than stand and deliver on the cranks.

Bought one of those ('22 model) last April for commuting the 3/4 mile to work & back. Liked it enough to get motivated for 'renovating' the 1971 Motobecane Grand Record I hadn't ridden in about twelve or 13 years for more 'recreational' pursuits. My Dew+ is quite comfortable as you've found yours to be.

went out for ride today, first in 15_ years I took a tumble. Shimano Crank sheared right off about 4 inches above the pedal, in the middle of a small hill, I was standing up pushing kinda hard to get over the top and it went and so did I. Lucky I guess, some major road rash on my left arm shoulder, chest and back and sore neck. We'll see how I feel in the morning.

Here is a cropped version of the previous pic
A nice piece of art work huh? When I was taking the picture an older gentleman told me that it had been relocated because of the widening of the road. It now has it's own little park

Thanks
I'm fine just some road rash, bruises and sore neck . I'd ride my spare bike today, but it's rainy and dark today. Will order new crank shortly
The downsides of being a 6'1" 225lbs biker. we won't even go into being 55 ;-)

(I have 19 years on you, most of which I left the bike entirely alone. That changed last May; believe me being half-way to 75 I can 'feel your pain'! Still have scars from road rash episode back when I was maybe 14? We don't heal nearly as fast at our ages as we did when we were that age....)

I did get out and ride today. The weather was beautiful and a great day to be out riding. So I got a 30 mile ride in. I typically do not stick to mup's but today I did after talking with a woman about how far the mup goes. So I tried following it and it wasn't as busy further along as it was closer to my end of the mup. That being said some people using it are not considerate. There is a sign ( I should have taken a picture of the sign) that reads there is no poop bag fairy. Please do not leave poop bags along the path( or some such very similiar phrase). Anyway, I enjoyed my ride today and that is why I am out riding.

I did get out and ride today. It was a nice day for riding, so I took advantage of it. I did the same ride as yesterday but extended the ride by 3.5 miles. Which isn't much but after coming home tired yesterday, I was pretty sure I would do less miles today. All the riding though yesterday caused me to sleep 8 hours through the night. So today I felt good and rode a little more. Anyway, the mup was not to busy today and it was so nice to be outside.
I don't usually take pictures, but I took two today to add to the post.
