Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Karenjack241: That's a very aggressive-looking bike. Do you race on it?

It looks like your bike is pretty similar to the Defy 1 now. Why didn't you just go with the Defy 1 right away?

I know quite a few people with their saddles tilted up slightly.

Just picked this bike up, I want to make it look better (just love the bar tape!!)
What do you think I should do to it?
I was thinking white saddle and bar tape, new hoods, pedals...what do you think?

Wow, brings back memories!

This Exact Paint-job and frame-style was my Road Bike in my middle school years (early 90's.) I had a spedo-meter on it, and a manual pump that straddled the frame.

Thanks for posting the Benotto.

Thanks! The downtube shifter is a 1980's Campagnolo Record shifter but I will soon switch to a BTP carbon shifter with an alu bolt. Saves a bit of weight and I think a carbon lever looks better with the modern Record parts and other carbon stuff (handlebar, crankarms, etc.). A BTP carbon derailleur clamp is also on its way...

^ If it is in your size I dont see why a brother wouldnt allow you to ride it (unless you dont know how to ride clipless or he is actually wanting to ride it)

Latest incarnation of my 89 Trek 660.

52x15 gear ratio strains my massive guads. Requires 400W just to clear the driveway.

Need a better pic from the other side, and some nice seat adjusting..
(Had surgery on both my feet so I can't do anything about either one of those things for a while yet )
