Hello all,

Pleased to meet you. I'm relatively new to road cycling after being a commuter cyclist for a while. I am getting 'coached' by some wonderful more experienced riders in my town, who I'm sure are all quite alarmed at my propensity for crashing under the dumbest circumstances. Knock on wood, I've managed to avoid major injury but my fingers and forearms are a tragic mess at the moment.

My pride and joy is a 2009 TCR Alliance that I've taken apart and put back together. First major upgrades will be a new set of alloy wheels (thinking Mavic Cosmics, as I like the Mavic Aksiums currently on the bike) and perhaps an older generation Shimano Ultegra Di2 groupset.

Someday would like to do crit racing, but only if it's not with a bunch of yahoos that would just as soon put you in the hospital as surrender a 200-meter sprint.

Indeed. I'm learning how to be safe, but it's definitely a learned skill. I'm a life long hockey player, so the legs are there, just not the sense yet!
