Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bar-end shifter options for SRAM Rival 10 speed

Hey gang,

I just picked up this bike:

I want to run bar-end shifters on this bike for two reasons... 1) Don't like how the SRAM brifters shift, and 2) I just miss having bar-end shifters on a bike.

Question: Do I need to stick with SRAM bar-end shifters? Or, can I use microshift, Shimano (Dura-Ace), or others? Any recommendations for something that will work with this 10-speed groupset? I prefer indexed for the rear and friction for the front. Thanks!

Something like this? Friction front, index rear.
I sent you a PM as well.

The bike shop actually convinced me to keep the brifters since they're in perfect working condition. They said that this generation of Rival doesn't have the weird yaw front derailleur... Thanks!
