datlas do you post notes from your appointments on the website so patients can read them?
My newest hobby is reading the notes from the witch clinic and seeing what they got wrong.

*The biggest threat in the city is a parked car driver suddenly opening their door. Very nasty.

Discovered an amazing phenomenon today while riding. Went on two narrow roads that both had hills, one of these hills is actually hard, pretty steep and relatively long for where I live. These roads are pretty desolate, sometimes I never see a car. Today, however, every time I started climbing a line of cars would get behind me. Really no way they can pass, and I’m doing everything I can to get up this hill while avoiding my heart exploding. After the hill, and once the line passed I didn’t see another car. This happened three times.

I'm resisting the urge to send a message saying "Actually, that's not how the conversation went."

Leg shaving is such a common practice here, but one of those things that would have NEVER crossed my radar if not for Bike Forums. It was inconceivable because I had NEVER fallen while riding, so it never crossed my mind. Back when I used to ride tons in the city, If I ever fell* it's a possibility I would have gotten run over by a motor vehicle anyway. The forum folks treat falling like an inevitability, yet still to this day I'm like "Nah, that's unacceptable".

I've shaved in the past. I like the way it feels, and it makes putting sunblock on my legs much easier. But let's be honest, at my level there's no performance gains and hopefully I'm not getting road rash often enough that it's an issue. It's pure vanity -- when I'm in shape and I've got a good cyclist tan going on my legs look good. I have no problem admitting it's for looks.
My wife doesn't care if I shave and I don't care if she doesn't.

The problem with shaving is where does it stop. Does you shave to here or there or somewhere else?

That's the first time I've ever fallen with the exception of my mountain biking days long ago. My biggest fear on pavement is uneven surfaces that grab a tire. We have soil with a high plasticity level that causes heaving from wet/dry cycles. Not unusual on the rural roads and MUPS we ride to see a crack in the surface with one side of the crack being an inch higher than the other side with the crack running in the direction of the road. Pot holes are not much of a concern, on the other hand.

Me too. I was jumping over the sandbox, at a run, and forgot it was there.

When I first started racing, I decided to start shaving my legs. I had a single blade adjustable razor that I used on my face, set to "1".. I assumed that because my hair was longer on my legs, I would open it up to "8". My first upstroke was from my heel upwards along my achilles tendon. I pulled a 1/4 inch thick, 6 or 7 inch long hunk of flesh off and left a real mess in the bathtub.

I think that I've had one or two nicks since switching to a DE, and of course some weepers, but nothing too out of line with my experience with disposable carts. I think that the big thing for me was making sure that the top cap didn't get gummy and start shuddering on the stroke - that seems to be more problematic on my legs than on my face or head. The upside, though, is that DEs are just *so* much less prone to clogging, which means that I can go a little longer between shaves, if necessary/lazy.
