Specialized Secteur Rear derailleur replacement
Hi all,
Hope someone can give me some valuable advice for repairs on my bike Specialized Secteur Triple 2013. The rear derailleur is on its last legs as well as hangar.
Bike Specs:
Chainset Triple 52-42-30
Cassette 8 Speed 12-25
Front Derailleur/ Rear Derailleur/ Shifters - Shimano 2300
Does anyone know how I can replace the rear Derailleur, I dont think I can source a Shimano 2300. I read on a some forum, I should look for Shimano Claris 8 Speed rear Derailleur second hand ones on Ebay.
I have also seen on Wiggle Website a brand new Shimano Altus M310 7/8 Speed rear Derailleur, this is actually available in stock
I would prefer using a brand new part over a used one. So my preference is getting the Shimano Altus but I don't know if it will work on the bike over the Claris 8 Speed Derailleur.
Also would someone suggest where I could source a hanger for my bike
Thanks in advance.

I had just recently purchased a used Secteur Triple, unsure of what year (2013 at the newest, maybe 2011). The hangar snapped in half, and the rear derailleur (which was SRAM instead of Shimano, a mismatch with the front derailleur) sprang open and lost tension. Took it in to REI and the guy said the RD was shot. He happened to have an old derailleur in the parts bin that worked. It's a Shimano Claris RD-R2000. Hope this is somewhat helpful.

This is just one of many things not quite right with this used Secteur that I'm discovering. Bummer the seller didn't disclose these details. He was the second owner - perhaps he bought it this way and didn't know any better.

With no description of the shift lever's spec my initial reply assumed that the bike was bought with properly matched shifters and der. If it wasn't then not knowing it allows for those trying to help you not really know what's going on and thus not be able to give the better advise the first time. Andy
