Go buy yourself a cheap Harbor freight caliper and steel metric ruler and save yourself a lot of time and effort by measuring things rather than relying on information from dubious sources.

When terminology is unclear and used in ways that are imprecise, a manufacturer could assume you were asking about stem diameter, which was already measured to be 1 inch.

Yep. I doubt Huffy has any actual tech staff. Couple that with questions from a new-to-bikes caller and the result may not be as hoped.
