Specialized Sirrus 3.0

I gave up my road bike for a Specialized Sirrus 3.0 which is a better fit for me and my arthritis etc. Will I look dorky if I use my clipless road pedals and shoes, switch to mtb shoe/pedal combo or just get good flats and sneakers? I still want to go a distance of 20-25 miles+ on a ride all on paved path.

I wouldn't worry about what others think. You won't look odd anyway, as a lot of hybrid riders use clipless pedals and shoes. If you like them, then go ahead and use them!

I used clipless pedals on my sirrus for years but changed to flat pedals for the past 2. Just do whatever fits your needs, it is not unusual to pick one or the other on any bike.

Use what works for you--you're the one on the bike. On my road bike, I'm using flat pedals with traction pins (sometimes referred to as BMX or Mtn.Bike pedals). Noone has said anything about them. Mine is not the only road bike I've seen with flat pedals with pins on it. I tried "clipless" pedals, but they just aren't for me.

No. If you like clipless -- road or mtb -- use 'em.

Use whatever is most comfortable. I use PowerGrips (straps), I don't care that some clipless users look down on it.
