Which bike(s) do you most regret getting rid of?
For me, I think my old Gary Fisher Rig, Gary Fisher X-cal, Raleigh Olympian, and Raleigh Grand Prix.

None, because cash occupies less space than a big piece of steel.
The opposite of this is excessive hoarding. It starts with 4 bikes as a gateway, and then turns to 40.
Don't get attached to something that is in constant surplus, more than ever due to post covid positive oversupply shock.
Especially when a hoarder is forced to liquidate or just toss them out to the curb. I see this happen all the time in my town.

Odd as I am for many years only road riding but most miss a Kona Lava Dome. Sad if you can't enjoy the finer things in life.

I don't know why I'd have regrets. Every bike I've gotten has been a fun bike and I learned something from them. The current bike is the most fun. Can't wait to get rid of it and get the next.
Probably need to wait another year or two so the spouse won't think all I do is buy myself toys.

None. I last sold 3 bikes and donated 2 others. They were all bikes superfluous to my needs, they had been replaced by newer and better bikes and I needed the space. Well, maybe of the 5 I might have kept my recumbent, even though I hadn’t ridden it in 10 years. It took up a lot of space in my basement, and if I had taken the time to fix the shifting system it would have been fun to ride on the local bike paths, but it just needed too much work. So, None.

I sort of wish I had kept the Univega road bike I bought new in 1977 and gave away in 2005. It was taking up space and I wasn't ready to get back into cycling

I most regret getting rid of an early ‘00s Novara Big Buzz, which was the perfect commuter/utility bike for me. It fit great, rode great, and I wasn’t fussed about beating up in salty, winter slush or any other conditions. I rode it a lot and loved it!

That Tanjor Aero twin is *the* piece of cycling kit which I most regret getting rid of, because it was just too cool! They were made up in White Cloud, MN, in the early ‘90s for a brief while, and just so smart. Inline seating, the plexiglass dome, and the center canopy could be totally removed or the clear vinyl windows rolled back to any position for as much ventilation as required. The seatbacks folded flat so it could be used for cargo or to lay the kid down for a nap. The wheels were cambered, too, so that thing would track great at high speed. It’s the best trailer ever, by a looong margin.

My ‘08 Surly LHT. I “gave” it to someone after we neglected to lock the front door a week before Christmas. What I really miss are the custom front racks that were attached to the bike.
The custom bags that went with them only work with the racks. I still have them 13 years after the theft. Guess I’m “guilty” of a sentimental attachment to things that serve no purpose. Does that mean I’m somehow defective? During a 1.25 year period lived out of those bags for nearly seven months. An additional few weeks when I started touring again after a 8 year hiatus. Lots of memories there.

I have no real regrets. My old Surly Disc Trucker is down south being ridden around Central and South America living the life I couldn't give it and the Cilo while cool was not as cool as the Phil Wood Frame that replaced it and the other stuff was built to be sold. I am not great at selling stuff but I build stuff I want so I don't have bikes I want to sell or if I do the bike I would build to replace it if I needed to replace it would be only marginally different so no real point.
I am looking to sell some stuff and might have some minor regrets but I don't really ride them as much so I don't really know what to do they are great bikes but I am not giving them the love and attention they deserve so what is the point of keeping them? One I might keep the frame as it is a limited edition color way but honestly it was a happy accident from when a bottom bracket cracked after 11 years and Specialized replaced it which ruined my plans for a new steel or ti frame at the time.

I have one bike that I hardly ever ride. I consigned it to the hook back in the corner, so I'd have to move 5 bikes to get to it. This weekend, I dug it out, pumped up the tires, and took it for a ride. I found myself thinking, "Why don't I ride this one more?"
Then I got home, and looked at all the OTHER bikes, and realized the problem isn't that I have too many bikes. It's that there are too few hours in the day and days in a week.

Cinelli Supercorsa, Ferrari Red, Campy Chorus 11 speed. Just like a beautiful woman that bike never had to beg for attention. And I was the fastest ME on that thing. However, it pushed me up to a speed level where I didn't really belong which made me fear I would blow up my heart eventually. So I just broke my heart and sold it.

I've given a couple bikes away, sold others cheap. I don't get emotionally attached to things. If I had more money I would replace the bikes I have now and get rid of the old ones.
I wouldn't mind having a couple of my old cars back but that's a different thing.
