WTB: Inexpensive Mixte/Step Through in S.Chicago
My SIL wants to get a bike to ride around her Oak Lawn neighborhood and we told her we'd post here to see if any BF members in the area had something suitable for sale.
She's mid 50s, short, and not really athletic so she would need a small (50 or smaller) mixte or step through. I doubt she has ridden a bike in many years. She won't be going fast or far and the terrain is pretty flat so a single speed or 3 speed would be ample.
We'd help her find something but that's hard to do from Florida and any good deal on CL would probably disappear before she got to it.
She's looking to spend $200 or less, so definitely nothing fancy. Something vintage, not classic. (Or something newer. She doesn't much care.)
If there is anyone in the Oak Lawn area that has something that might suit her, send me a message and I'll put her in contact.

Check this out. Local and a good price. Know the seller, he will treat you well.

I have a mixte frameset that I was going to build for my wife, but she cannot ride now. Your SIL can have that, if you want to get parts together for her. I think it is a white univega of uncertain size, though I was planning to use it for my 5' wife.
I cannot recall what/if I paid for it. I think it was free, so I will pass it along as such. PM me if you want it.

If she wants to make a road trip to St Louis, I will give her the Peugeot below. It might be too big as the seat tube top measures 53.5cm.

I recently picked up this 26" Schwinn Mirada. I haven't had a chance to clean it up. When I went through it at time of purchase I did not find any issues. I will sell it for $100 as is. I live in Plano and work in Lisle.

I'm digging the faux 'wicker' bench seat. Shabby chic.
