Autumn Bike Pictures- let's see em
I know there's some great fall photos in the 'where'd you ride' thread. Here's a couple of bikes that I bought this year, and a bunch of leaves..
Post up some bikes and fall colors.

Great place to ride! Plus the country roads!
Yes, dedicated, bazillion dollar bike path they had to blast out of the rock hillside. They have had to get creative where the right of way is not there any more or doesn't align with the mission. That part was finished a couple of years ago, the whole thing is fantastic and the only place I normally go to ride. Many segments of all different levels of somewhat awesome to all out phenomenal. The old Columbia river highway was mostly blasted and torn up when I84 was built, since 1987 they have rebuilt much of it into what you see in the pics and some of it is still in use as well, they will have the whole thing completed in about 5-6 years when you will be able to ride 73 miles from Portland to the Dalles without having to go on the freeway at all, they only have about 5 miles left to complete/restore but they will be some of the most expensive and challenging to build. This road was originally built between 1913 and 1922, they struggle now to accomplish what they did 100 years ago. It was and still is an engineering marvel. It is as cool as can be and amazes me every time I go out there. Next ride is planned for 11/14 or 11/21 for my Bday. It will be cold and maybe wet so we'll see. I may get out there again before that if a good weather day presents itself and lines up.

This is the bend above the falls of the Rappahannock. Fredericksburg was a port city in colonial and early American time frame. Hard to believe ships came to town. In addition there is a canal that was built to ship goods to the port and provide power for industry.
Here is a pic of the canal I took a year or more ago.

Nearly all my rides take me across the Chatham Bridge, which was just opened last week after a year of being rebuilt. They put the bike path on the wrong side! At least there is one. View from the bridge looking downriver with the train bridge in the distance

Looking upriver towards the falls that are at Falmouth (my real address and zip)

I grew up going out to my Great Aunts place in Wyeth, she owned a piece of The Gorge in Wyeth from the bottom clear up over the top with BPA power line rights. We went up there to get Christmas trees riding on the back of my Uncles big flatbed farm truck, hang on! She was very well off from the land she owned but lived in a literal clapboard shack, knot holes and all with a wood stove roaring along.
She drove a 62 Chevrolet Impala convertible out there where it pours and blows rain, snow, ice and freezing rain like crazy in the winter for several months, tough old gal and obviously very eccentric.
Should have spent more time out there, not smart enough at the time but the time I did spend has me locked into it from here on out.

had a nice evening/night bike ride today... we'll just not mention that flat tire.
Between Edelstein and Speer is this wonderful maple tree. Behind it is a farm house and the Amish buggy that they are selling. There aren't any Amish within a hundred miles, so I'm not sure who they expect to drive by and decide that they gotta buy it.
taking Blue Ridge road from Speer to Chillicothe, we go by the Blue Ridge cemetery.
Chillicothe sits on the Illinois river, and riding south on River Beach Drive is often rewarded with sights of barges traveling with assorted cargo. At this time of year, it's likely that they are carrying grain.

(now I need to go fix that flat tube...)
