Need Advice on picking between 2 road bikes
I have an opinion question for you guys - I'm having a hard time deciding between a 2005 Fuji bike with Dura Ace(7800)/Ultegra(6600) components and a 2012 bike with 105 (5700). Similarly priced but the condition of the 2012 is better.
I'm going to test ride both of course before I decide, but objectively which one is better? Factoring in maintenance costs down the line and replacement parts am I in over my head with the high end components?
Also heard (on the internet) that the higher end DA is not as durable as lower end parts? Please let me know what you would do.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I'd go with the 2012. With the way Shimano hands me down technology, the newer 105 is probably pretty durn close to the old Dura Ace and Ultegra. Also unless the components on the 2005 bike are newer replacements, they are aged and maybe even worn more than those on the 2012 bike.
As for what you heard on the internet, it's probably BS like most internet stuff. Well except for my comments above.

For 2012: Specialized E5 aluminum with FACT carbon forks and DT Axis 2.0 wheelset with standard specialized wheels - Specialized 105 compact
For 2005: Aluminum frame with Reynolds carbon fibre front fork and rear fork Velocity Aerohead Pros wheelset with Continental Gatorskin Hardshell tires - Fuji Team Issue
Thanks a lot everyone for your thoughts.

Specialized! Dura Ace is nice- even older Dura Ace....but in practical terms, as far as performance? You likely couldn't tell the difference. Once you get to 105, the differences between the groups aren't huge. It's mostly aesthetic...and a few grams of weight savings...which on actual rides, means absolutely nothing. Spec makes nice bikes. Nohing wrong with Fujis, but they're kind of 2nd tier.
