Advice on bottom bracket sealed bearing Shimano BB-UN73
Hi,
could someone give me some technical data on Shimano bottom bracket sealed bearings please ?
I have a GT Agressor 2007 model on which I replaced the original BB bearings with a Shimano BB-UN73
(additional info on unit is
68
BC 1.37x24
L <- LL113 -> R
)
this was some time ago. Now I want to replace the same original BB on my partner's GT agressor and I was trawling thru the Shimano tech site and also Parktool's site. I read something about this unit being out of date and being replaced with a new part number. It also said that the number after the UN refers to the weight of the unit, with higher numbers being lighter ?
Is this correct ?
what does the LL113 refer to ?
can someone point me to a better informational site than the Shimano page ?
Thanks

BB-UN54 would be one replacement.
"68" refers to the width of the frame's bb shell.
1.37x24 is the threading ("English")
"113" is the width of the spindle in mm

Keep in mind this is a thread from 13 YEARS ago and wasn't very active then and hasn't been active since. Please take a look at the thread dates or when you go through the forums just look at most recent stuff which will generally be that first page or top posts.
They do not make that same model. If you are stuck on Shimano the UN-300 is their replacement. However I would go with the IRD QB-95 or a SKF bottom bracket if I wanted something more high quality or one of the other IRD BBs or Tange or something like that if I wanted something a bit cheeper and not Shimano.

Crap, a zombie thread!
This will have been a nice discussion if the necro reviver had ask in their own new thread. Now quite a few of us others will just add responses to the original OP and others not really addressing the question ask by the noob.
Oh well. Welcome to BF!
