Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

POC Ventral Spin vs. Air Spin or other somewhat aero everyday helmets

I’m looking for a new everyday road helmet. Want as aero as I can get without sacrificing comfort. I know this isn’t an easy trade! I don’t care about cost, so what would people do? The POC air spin looks interesting? Are there others?

The POC Omne Air Spin? Good helmet for the money. I've had one for a couple of years. Probably not very aero. I'd be surprised if the vented road versions of the Ventral and Octal rated highly for aerodynamics. They're all kinda mushroom-head looking, although the Omne Air Spin is less Lego-toadstool head looking than other POCs. But comfy and very well ventilated. I really appreciate it in Texas summers. The "roof" that curves across the top of the Omne Air Spin seems to scoop air across the scalp more effectively than my Bell helmets.

POC Ventral Air Spin is intended to be very ventilated. That isn't aero.
It's a very well made helmet and if it fits then great.

Look into Kask, MET, Oakley, Lazer, and Giro too.
I don't know how you define comfort. Do you define that as well ventilated? Do you define that as well padded?

All the above brands have aero options and ventilated options.

The Bell Z20 Aero MIPS is worth a look perhaps: https://www.bellhelmets.com/bike/p/z...QaAiLuEALw_wcB

I also like the Abus Gamechanger: https://mobil.abus.com/int/on-road/B...rey-M?type=pdp
